School Dinners

At FHA Ladybrook children order their own meal each morning through our interactive display boards or iPad with the class teacher, meaning they get the meal choice they want, the kitchen know exact numbers and can prepare food fresh for each sitting, it promotes independence and means that children don’t always have to have a school meal every day or a packed lunch from home they can have a blended approach if they do not like everything on the menu.

Allowing children to make the choice means that those children who only like certain meals are guaranteed to get the food they like.  We have designed the menu so that all children having a school meal will have a hot meal each day.

If your child has allergies or does not eat certain foods for religious reasons please let the school office know and the kitchen will cater for their needs.  Each day there will always be a vegetarian alternative examples are:

Quorn Sausages
Fishless Fish Fingers

Quorn Roast
Vegetarian Sausage Roll

Quorn Dippers

An alternative vegetarian menu is available below.  Children will still be able to order themselves daily the interactive system informs the kitchen if they are vegetarian or have an allergy.

Throughout the course of the academic year we have special themed days, these can be order in the same way as the main menu and we will provide information on each day via seesaw or parent pay.  When planning theme days we ask the children from the school council to vote on what they wish to eat.  Theme days range from Christmas Dinner, Art week, Wimbledon day, Seaside day.  On some theme days we may need you to say if your child is going to have a dinner so that we can ensure we cater for all children this will be done through the parent pay system.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to universal free school meals, meaning they do not pay for a school meal.  Children in Years 3-6 meals are charged at £2.30 a day, this can be paid via our parent pay system.  Children in any year can start/move to school dinner at any time.
