75th Anniversary VE Day – Flying High Academy Ladybrook

Children of The Flying High Academy, Ladybrook, both at home with their family members and at school,  commemorated the 75th anniversary of the Victory in Europe day, marking the end of World War II.

Teacher and History Lead,  Elliott Dudley said, “This special day highlighted the many and great sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families in the duration of  the war.  The children took part by organising picnics with their family to replicate a street party, and also looked at  Morse code for their learning and the importance of keeping wartime messages secret. The children also took part in art activities to create a portrait of a World War II soldier. As a result of this, the children will learn all about life during World War II and how this significant event has changed modern day life.”
