Home Learning

What is home learning?

We share home learning to strengthen the link between school and home, giving children extra opportunities to practise skills, build confidence, and involve families in their education.

Children are expected to read to someone at least 4 times for 15 minutes each week.  This should be recorded on the Boom reader app.

For each writing unit, we will send home a list of words.  We’d love your support in exploring these words with your child — say them out loud together, look at how they are spelt, and chat about what they mean.

Each week, children will be given a task which is stuck into their homework book.  This task will reinforce learning already completed in school.

How can I help at home?

  • Read with your child 4 times per week
  • Practise your child's spellings with them
  • Encourage your child to complete home learning tasks
