At The Flying High Academy Ladybrook, we believe lunchtime should be a joyful part of the school day — a time to refuel, relax, and enjoy nutritious food in a safe, inclusive environment.
Daily Menu Options:
- 🟠 Orange Option – A hearty, traditional favourite
- 🟢 Green Option – A flavourful alternative offering variety
- 🔵 Blue Option – A comforting jacket potato with a choice of toppings
Summer Blue Option: A sandwich bag including a sandwich, crisps, a gingerbread biscuit, and raisins — perfect for outdoor dining.

✅ Vegetarian, vegan, and allergy-specific diets catered for
✅ All meals can be adapted to suit individual needs

Outdoor Dining:
Children in Years 3–6 can enjoy lunch picnic-style outdoors, weather permitting — making the most of our beautiful grounds.

- Nursery (30 Hours): £3.16 per meal
- Reception to Year 2: Free meals under the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme
- Years 3–6: £3.16 per meal
🎓 Pupil Premium — Extra Support for Eligible Families
Families may be eligible for Free School Meals through the Pupil Premium scheme.
This not only provides free meals but also unlocks additional support, including:
- Discounts on school trips
- Reduced rates for wraparound care
- Access to extra learning resources and support in school
You can apply for Pupil Premium at any time, even if your child is already receiving free meals in Reception to Year 2.
Registering ensures your child receives the full range of benefits available.
Eligibility includes families receiving one or more of the following:
- Universal Credit (with annual net earned income of no more than £7,400)
- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (with income below £16,190 and not receiving Working Tax Credit)

Each Friday, we celebrate children who consistently show they are Ready, Respectful, and Safe in the dining hall.
🎉 Eight children are invited to sit at the Golden Table and enjoy lunch with Mrs Chadburn, our Head Teacher — a special reward for outstanding behaviour and kindness.
🛝 OPAL Play — Outdoor Fun with Purpose
We are proud to be an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) school, where play is purposeful, inclusive, and full of joy.
Our play environment includes:
- 🌳 Den building with natural materials
- 🧱 Loose parts play using tyres, crates, and fabric
- 💧 Water and mud play zones
- 🎨 Creative play with chalk, paint, and recycled items
- 🎭 Role play zones with dressing-up clothes and props
- 🛠️ Construction play using blocks and tools
- 📚 Quiet zones for reading, drawing, or relaxing outdoors
🏆 Children who follow the OPAL Play Charter are recognised with the Golden Wellie and receive a weekly reward, celebrating their positive play and contribution to our play community.
