Safeguarding is Everyone's Responsibility
At The Flying High Academy Ladybrook, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where all children can learn, thrive and achieve their full potential.
We recognise that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and that children can be vulnerable to a range of risks both in person and online. We work closely with children, families, staff, governors and external agencies to ensure that children are protected from harm and receive the support they need.
Our staff receive regular safeguarding training and are vigilant in:
- Understanding factors that may make children and families more vulnerable.
- Recognising the signs and indicators of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
- Listening to children and taking their concerns seriously.
- Taking prompt and appropriate action when concerns arise.
- Working with external agencies to secure the best outcomes for children.
We follow the guidance set out in Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and work in partnership with Nottinghamshire safeguarding services to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children.

Reporting a Safeguarding Concern
If you are worried about a child, please speak to us.
Concerns About Your Own Child
In the first instance, please speak to your child's Class Teacher or Teaching Assistant. They will work with the safeguarding team to ensure appropriate support is provided.
Concerns About Another Child
Please contact our Designated Safeguarding Lead or one of our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads directly.

How We Keep Children Safe
Safeguarding extends beyond responding to concerns. We actively teach children how to stay safe and make positive choices.

Technology plays an important role in children's lives and online safety is a key part of our safeguarding provision.
We educate pupils to use technology safely, responsibly and respectfully whilst supporting parents and carers to manage online risks at home.
